The preferences setup allows for the warehouse location to be entered so use in multiple warehouses is easy. The program process is outlined below:

• The user taps on the Scancount icon to launch the application
• The Scanner prompts for the user Log On so you know who has done the count
• The Scanner then prompts the user to scan or enter the bin location they want to count.
• The scanner then prompts the user to scan an item and enter a quantity and continues this loop until the user taps on the done button.
• The scanner again prompts for the next bin number and the loop continues until the assignment is complete.

At any time the user can review what they have scanned on the Palm. At the end of the process the scanner is placed in the cradle and the information is synched to the O~S Server. The information is exported in a flat ASCII file format for easy import into various programs.
